Easy No-Bake Dog Treats
I created this easy no-bake dog treat recipe specially for a new puzzle toy for Rambo. I wanted these dog treats to make a louder sound when they hit the floor. This sound will help Rambo associate pawing at the container with the sound of treats dropping on the floor, resulting in a reward.
Usually, I prefer air-dried or freeze-dried single-ingredient for commercially made treats. However, they are not in uniform shaped, also too light in weight and don’t make a loud enough sound. Kibbles would be perfect to use since they are harder, denser, and heavier in weight. Since I don’t have kibbles in the house, I specially made these treats for him. They look and feel like kibbles but are healthier! They are made with chicken and veggies, low in carbs, high in fiber, and high in protein.
How to Make Easy NO-Bake Crunchy Chicken Dog Treats
Ingredients:
8oz cooked chicken breast
2 stalks celery
2 small carrots
2 hard-boiled eggs
2 tbsp Native Pet Pumpkin Powder
Instructions:
Lightly steam or cook celery and carrots.
In a food processor, puree celery, carrots, hard-boiled egg, and pumpkin powder into a smooth consistency.
Puree cooked chicken breast
Pour the vegetable/egg mixture and pureed chicken into a large mixing bowl. Mix coconut flour into the mixture until it forms a dough.
Use a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon to scoop out the mixture and roll it into tiny ball-shaped treats.
Place the ball-shaped treats into a dehydrator. Air dry overnight at 125°C.
Once they are completely dry and cool, store these crunchy chicken treats in an airtight container to maintain their freshness.
Note: You can actually give your dogs this treat as is! If you don't have a dehydrator at home, you can actually make them in mini shapes and freeze them :) I like to dehydrate them because they’re easy to carry in a treat pouch and with longer shelf life.
The Septree dehydrator is my new favorite tool for homemade dog treats. It’s compact in design with 4 stainless steel trays. No more dealing with washing plastic trays! Super easy to clean and relatively quiet. I highly recommend getting a small dehydrator if you want to make more homemade dog treats. I also use it to dehydrate food and vegetables to make healthy veggie chips and fruit chips.
If you order in the month of March, I believe you can get this dehydrator for $60 (with a $30 coupon + $10 coupon, automatailly applied when check out)!
I hope your pup will love these crunchy treats as much as Rambo! Happy Baking!
