Fish Treats for Dogs

If your dog loves fish, or if you want to incorporate more fish into your dog’s diet, this quick and easy fish treats for dogs is for you. But I must warn you, this is not the recipe for you if you hate the smell of fish haha. Once the fish mixture is in the oven, the whole house will smell like fish. I personally don’t mind, but my dad wasn’t a fan.

However, Rambo was certainly a fan of these fishy smelling fish chips :) I think for Rambo the stinkier the better!

Give your dog a boost of omega-3 and fiber with these homemade fish chips. They're fast to make with only 3 ingredients. If your dogs love fish, I promise your dog will love them!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Start by draining the water from the canned sardines and patting them dry.
  2. In a food processor, combine the canned sardines, ground flaxseed, and egg. Puree the mixture until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture onto parchment paper and spread it evenly.
  4. Place another sheet of parchment paper on top of the mixture and use a rolling pin to flatten it.
  5. Remove the top parchment paper. Transfer the parchment paper with the sardine mixture onto a baking sheet.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at a 245 degree for 45mins (see note #1)
  7. Allow the sardine chips to cool completely. Break it into smaller pieces before serving them to your dog.

Notes

Note #1: adjust the baking time based on the thickness of the mixture
